Requirements for Neuroscience Program Students
Students from the Neuroscience Program or other programs who are working in labs in the department are expected to attend seminars sponsored by the department and to participate in RIP:
- Seminar: Research in Progress; ANAT 7720
Course Requirements for Students Admitted Directly into the Department
Course requirements for students admitted directly to Neurobiology will be determined by the student’s supervisory committee on an individual basis, and must include:
- A one-semester graduate level course in statistics (for example MDCRC 6000 or 6050)
- MBIOL 7570 - Case Studies and Research Ethics
- RIP (Seminar: Research in Progress; (ANAT 7720) each semester
- A minimum of 20 credit hours of ANAT 7970 (PhD Thesis Research)
NOTE: Students admitted directly to the Neurobiology PhD Program also follow the other requirements of students admitted through the Biosciences PhD Programs, including the Qualifying Exam and Dissertation.
Course requirements for MD/PhD Students
MD/PhD students in Neurobiology and Anatomy must complete:
- A minimum of 2 additional didactic courses (1½ semesters, 4.5 credit hours)
- A one-semester graduate level course in statistics (for example MDCRC 6000 or 6050)
- MBIOL 7570 - Case Studies and Research Ethics
- RIP (Seminar: Research in Progress; (ANAT 7720) each semester
- A minimum of 20 credit hours of ANAT 7970 (PhD Thesis Research)
NOTE: MD/PhD students are NOT required to complete a Teaching Assistantship, but otherwise follow the requirements of students admitted through the Bioscience PhD programs, including the Qualifying Exam and Dissertation.
