Timeline for Doctoral Degree
Year 1:
- Complete Bioscience PhD program first year course requirements and Capstone Exam
- Select a dissertation laboratory; file “Faculty Agreement” form
- Submit “Student Pledge” form
Year 2:
- Establish a Supervisory Committee and Qualifying Exam committees; file “Establish a Supervisory Committee” and “Request a Change to Supervisory Committee” forms
- Pass Qualifying Exam: file “Report of Qualifying Exam/Dissertation Proposal” form
Years 3 and 4:
- Meet with Supervisory Committee; file “Report of Supervisory Committee” form.
Year 5:
- Advanced Student Review; file required documents
- Submit Program of Study and Apply for Graduate Degree
- Write, defend and submit dissertation; file Supervisory Committee Approval, Final Reading Approval, and Statement of Approval forms
